Haven't been able to work consistently on anything except the house in months, which has resulted in the uncomfortable situation where I'm broke. Which means when we had friends over last night, I had no port to serve them. Which meant raiding the dregs of the liquor cupboard for to make booze stew. Halfway through the procedure Fabulous Husband (tm) offered money for me to go to the wine rack and get some port, since "friends don’t let friends serve crap" but I persisted, all mad scientist like. (Well, mad, broke and slightly alcoholic scientist like, shunned by the scientific community at large but still a genius of sorts.)The resulting new beverage? Quite tasty, actually. Would have been better served in martini glasses rimmed with sugar and an orange slice, but here it is:
Fruit Hammer
One tin concentrate no name fruit punch
Two and a half tins of water
Six oz Long Island Ice Tea mix (consisting of gin, rum, vodka and triple sec)
Two oz rum
Two oz whiskey
Two oz absinth
One tin concentrate no name lemonade
Five oz lemoncello
Note that oz must be done simply by eyeballing, not measuring. The resulting punch was quite punchy, went down easy but let you know on the way that sipping was advised. Voila! Mixology is good for you.
