My new marriage registrar came in the mail today - they, the official glorious they who have decided same sex marriage is a good idea - have also made some changes to form 12 of the marriage ceremony. No longer do Steve, Ray and Dave have to sign under "bride". No longer do Lucy, Margaret and Jennifer have to sign under "groom". No longer do I have to make light and playful about it to keep the bounce in the moment. Spouse and spouse, and only that. The government of Ontario, and indeed Canada has it down in their books that marriage is a loving partnership between two people, hand and hand and hear to heart but the gender? Not govt business.
Yay Canada!!
